Keynote Interview and Q&A with Ursula Burns
Ursula Burns
Mike Dinsdale
We are thrilled to welcome Ursula Burns as our keynote speaker. In 2009, Ursula became the CEO of Xerox, making her the first Black woman in history to be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. She’s currently a founding partner at private equity firm Integrum Holdings, and Chairman of Teneo and Plum Acquisition Corp.

A highly accomplished businesswoman and an outspoken champion for inclusive capitalism and racial and DEI issues, Ursula has shared her unique expertise and perspective over the years as a board member of Boston Scientific, American Express, and Nestle, and currently sits on the board of Uber, Exxon Mobil, The Ford Foundation, The Mayo Clinic, MIT, and other organizations.

Ursula will be joined by Akkadian Ventures’ Mike Dinsdale, former CFO of Gusto, DoorDash, and DocuSign, for a special Q&A discussion. Ursula and Mike are co-founders of Plum, a SPAC platform which they recently took public on NASDAQ.

Their conversation will touch on a range of topics, including the importance of mentors in fueling Ursula’s career, her work leading the White House national program on STEM, and what we can all do to move towards a more inclusive and sustainable model of capitalism. Ursula will also share some of the key takeaways from her new book, “Where You Are is Not Who You Are.”

Presentation Selection Committee

The expanded 2021 Presentation Selection Committee rates hundreds of emerging funds to select this year's 30 presenters.

FAQs

How much does it cost to attend RAISE?

Tickets for the virtual conference are $299 for GPs and $79 for LPs. Gathering tickets will be sold separately.

What is required to present at RAISE Global Summit?

First you must request an invitation, be invited, and then purchase a ticket. Next, you complete and publish your profile to participating Limited Partners. Presentation applicants are required to submit a fundraising deck and fund performance data as part of completing their profile, however, you choose whether these are visible to participating LPs, or private to the selection committee. Once this is complete, you may optionally upload supplemental materials for use ONLY by the RAISE Presentation Selection Committee. These materials may include track records, bios, and other traditional data room materials. Uploading supplemental materials is optional, but highly recommended as it increases your chances of being selected as a presenter.

Who decides which funds present at RAISE Global Summit?

We expect more applications to present than we have presentation slots. As a result, we have formed a selection committee of experienced venture capital fund investors to select which funds will present. Click Committee above to see this year's RAISE Presentation Selection Committee.

I am not applying to present. Should I still complete a profile?

Highly recommended: Yes! Completing a profile markets you and your funds to attending Limited Partners, increasing your connections and brand awareness for fundraising and deal flow.

What is the deadline for applying to present?

The earlier you complete your registration and profile, the earlier LPs can review your profile and reach out for a connection. The deadline is August 26, 2021.

When will I know if I am presenting?

You will be notified whether you have been selected to present on September 17, 2021.

If I am selected to present, what slides are required?

Presentations at RAISE are limited to 5 minutes each. The audience may be as large as 1500 or more people. You will have approximately 10 days from the date you are notified in which to complete your slides for this 5-minute presentation (7-10 slides max).

If I am not selected to present, can I still participate?

General Partners participating in RAISE Global Summit find the event is 100% worth their time, even if they do not present. Your profile is published to all participating Limited Partners. In addition, you can watch the other GPs present, learn from your peers, network together in breakout groups, and make connections to other funds.
