Akkadian Ventures is a pioneering growth-stage secondary investment firm founded in 2011 with several funds and an approximate AUM of $800M. Our flagship community initiative, the
RAISE Global Summit, has been the cornerstone of our efforts since 2016. This premier event for emerging VC firms and limited partners happens every October, uniting nearly 500 participants from the global venture capital community in the Presidio. In addition, we co-produce a mini-version of Raise x Slush in Helsinki and 2 other ad hoc events each year. Our community has more than 5000 members.
As the Vice President RAISE Platform, you'll spearhead the acclaimed RAISE Global conference series. This role is integral to the Akkadian Ventures team, demanding a blend of expertise in community engagement, exceptional stakeholder management, and event marketing talent within the venture capital sector. You’ll lead The Raise Platform through continued growth and success as the pre-eminent community connecting LPs and VC investors.
Community Building: Foster a vibrant RAISE community, encouraging knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration among community members and event attendees.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships across key figures in the RAISE community and the overall venture capital arena, including up-and-coming VC firms, limited partners, influential industry voices, production partners, and sponsors.
Event Marketing: Craft and implement robust marketing strategies to enhance the visibility and attendance of RAISE conferences. This includes all MARCOM, direct marketing, channel marketing, and social.
Operations: End to end responsibility for managing timelines, tasks, contractors and vendors to successfully conduct 3 events a year.
Speaker Recruitment: Secure high-caliber speakers and thought leaders to enrich conference content.
Sponsorship Sales and Management: Generate and grow sponsorship revenue through strategic alliances and rewarding sponsor relations.
P&L Oversight: Efficiently forecast budget, manage and allocate resources for RAISE events to ensure optimal returns.
Akkadian Marketing: Provide general marketing leadership execution support throughout the year for the broader Akkadian platform.
At least 5 years of relevant management experience, especially in leadership, marketing and event management,, including both in-person and virtual events.
In-depth knowledge of the venture capital industry, its dynamics, and practices.
Experience leveraging social media for promotional activities.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and adept at juggling multiple tasks.
Comfortable with remote work technologies and platforms.
High proficiency using products from Hubspot (required), Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Zoom, and other similar technologies preferred.
